Which Would You Prefer: Outstanding Salary or Job Satisfaction?

If you were paid a million dollars to clear the toilets, opportunities are you would do it, because hey – it is a million freaking’ dollars. There is few persons won’t do for money if the salary is right. That is why whether you would trade salary for satisfaction is an unfair query – obviously you would, if the salary was quite high enough.  Still, you have to do far better than that.

How to Answer

For clear reasons, the response is never “money.” So you are left with 2 choices. One is to argue why job satisfaction is more significant to you, which is the sentimental reply. Another is to delve more thoroughly, and make the employer consider twice about ever inquiring it again, as we will explain below.

Good Answer

“Fascinating! I would always require my pay to be proportionate to the work I generate, and that would play vital role in my job satisfaction. Additionally, any personal economical anxiety may impact job satisfaction as well. Although, considering those 2 is accounted for, then I would give priority to be happy with the job I do, so that I can arrive home and amuse that feeling of satisfaction.”

There you go. This is an excellent answer. It involves honesty (“You better are providing me great money, fool.”) but it also offers the contented answer, which is what you potentially require to give.

Also, do not go rambling on over how much pay it would take you to be willing to compromise satisfaction. Those responses never forward anywhere innovative and productive.
