I finished and completed my interview today. Should I call them back? If so, when should I call them?

Interviewers love to see candidates take initiative. Part of that initiative includes following up with the interviewer after an interview. There is 1 compulsory way to follow up and 1 optional way to follow up.
Mandatory
These days interviewers hope to get at least a thank you letter. Thank you letters should be very positive, professional, and consists of standard formatting and data. Thank you letters don’t have as strict rules as cover letters, but they yet have rules.
You can also call the interviewer after the interview and thank them for their precious time. Calling the interviewer makes a much better impression instead of thank you letters, but there are certain rules you must follow:
- You must know the names and titles of those that had taken your interview you and thank them straightly.
- You must call within the day. Don’t call 2 days later.
- You should have an extra “reason for calling” so that the conversation isn’t straightly about thanking them. Perhaps inquire them another query if possible. It assists the conversation be slightly less weird and offers you a chance to leave the phone call fairly easily once they have answered the query.
Calling isn’t compulsory, but a thank you letter is, and calling in place of a thank you letter might earn you bonus points given you know how to manage yourself on the phone.
Optional
Days have passed and you haven’t got a call back about the job. You’ve the chance to check in with the interviewer. Checking in will permit you to indicated the continued interest and potentially assist you to get an answer from the job so that you can move ahead.
