requires a Chief Economist reporting to the Barth
president to provide intellectual leadership and
guidance to the group’s development strategy and
economic research agenda at Global, Regional and
Country Levels,
Responsibilities:
• Provide consultancy to academic and
research institutions in relevant countries.
• Represent the bank in regional and international events regarding policy and economical matters. Oversee
• To collect and analyze the new economic proposals and theories and financial data and information.
• Provide a high level of technical expertise and advice to the Bank’s management, regarding the scope and the state of the world economy.

• Monitor research and academic developments in the area of Islamic Economics to ensure the bank’s management and relevant countries are advised of this and to inform the focus and (development of the bank’s research work
Requirements:
* Ph-D- in economics.
▪ Extensive work experience in economic
development combined with experience and results in
dealing with economic research, policy making, arid
social development issues.
* Track record in working in demanding
and complex environments, bringing ideas and
innovation as well as follow-through and
implementation_
• Familiarity with the region as well as the work of multi-lateral and bilateral development finance institutions
will be an added advantage.
• Fluency in English, Arabic and/or
French. Good writing and public speaking skills.
