Not long ago, we described how to elaborate the best job you have ever had. Today we will look at a much tougher job interview query – elaborating the worst job you have ever had.
How to Answer
When responding the “Best Job” query, you are motivated to select a job that is relevant to the post you are applying for, contains activities that will impress the interviewer, adds data that is related to the industry and, if possible, is a job that is very recent. With this query, you need to do the complete opposite:
- Make certain the job has nothing to do with the job you are interviewing for.
- Try to select a job you held a long, long time ago.
- Make certain the things you did not like about the job are not a part of the present job.
All negative queries need that you remain positive. So you have 2 ways to answer this query. You can either talk about a job from the distant past that had very less negative point, or you can talk about a job where something illegal happened, because highlighting illegal tasks perpetrated by your intervene is not believed you being negative.
Good Answer
“If I had to choose the worst job I have ever had, it was possibly back in high school, working for the McDonalds. They frequently scheduled me to work instantly after class, which cut into the time I had to study, and they did not have the best protective practices. I was burned by fry grease on daily basis.”
This is not actually complaining, the job is way in the distant past, and it is greatly unlikely that burning yourself with fry grease or being not able to study because you have to do job after school has any bearing on the job you are interviewing for. That is how you should respond this kind of interview query.
Take Away Interview Tips
- Be positive.
- Discuss jobs, activities, and interviewer culture that are irrelevant to the job you are applying with.
