Position Description : We are seeking a Geological Application Support Analyst to join the Geologic & Interpret Applications Division (GIAD) of the Exploration Application Services Department (EASD).

GIAD is responsible for providing world-class geoscience application technology for Upstream business line, supported by a team of internationally certified professionals. This includes geological interpretation, geophysical interpretation, reservoir characterization, geological modeling, and real-time geosteering operations. The Geological Application Support Analyst’s primary role is to: Support geological and seismic applications; help users on day-to-day application utilization; develop reservoir characterization workflows; assist short-term and long-term technology strategy establishment based on industry standards and future technology.

Minimum Requirements : As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geophysics. In addition, you will have ten years of experience in support geoscience applications. You should have experience with the latest versions of MS/Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience in project management, performing technical evaluations and problem solving analysis.

Good spoken and written English is a requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities : You will be required to perform the following:

• Maintain, enhance and support existing geoscience applications and systems.

• Develop and enhance existing reservoir characterization and seismic interpretation workflows.

• Test, evaluate, develop and implement geoscience applications.

• Train and mentor current and newly hired exploration staff.

• Collect and analyze system utilization data to monitor trends and forecast future requirements.

• Evaluate and test off-the-shelf products to ensure their applicability to meet field development requirements.

• Review and analyze user requests.

• Design, develop, test, install, customize, and troubleshoot geoscience applications.

• Perform support to operations monitoring of IT systems and problems response and resolution.
