Position Overview:
The Accounting Supervisor will oversee a team of bookkeepers, ensuring all client accounts are maintained accurately, deadlines are met, and work is performed in accordance with company and regulatory standards. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both the team and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the bookkeeping team.
- Review and approve financial transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations prepared by the team.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of client financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
- Implement and maintain best practices for bookkeeping processes and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalated client inquiries or issues.
- Collaborate with management to improve operational processes and client service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent qualification preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and standard bookkeeping practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
