Which Kind of Films Have You Seen Recently?

Sometimes you might encounter few weird interview queries but you still require being prepared on how to answer them like: Which kind of films have you seen recently?

Interviewers are there to find out who you’re as a person, in addition to find out how well you will take over a position with their company. Part of their job is to make small talk, attempting to involve you in conversation to hopefully establish a rapport and might be get a glimpse of the person behind the professional facade. They might even integrate this small talk into your interview queries by inquiring things like “Which kind of films have you seen recently?”

How to Answer:             

Answering this query is not essentially difficult. The issue is picking and choosing the movies. You require going with either a safe or interesting answer, and you require staying away from answers that might reflect on your character or simply have a name that is unsuitable. You also require answering the question seriously, and not act as though the question is not significant.

Bad Answer:

“Last month I got an opportunity to watch three 3. I watched ‘Chainsaw Murderer IV,’ ‘The Notebook,’ and ‘Dude, Where’s My Car?’”

No. Horror movies?  “Chick Flicks”? A movie termed as “Dude, Where’s My Car?” Absolutely not. These are perfect instances of bad movies to mention during your job interview. Even if “Dude, Where’s My Car?” was an Oscar winner, its title doesn’t make it acceptable.

Good Answer:

“The last major motion picture I saw was Avatar in IMAX. I also recently watched “Holy Rollers,” an independent film from at Seattle International Film Festival.”

One of these movies is famous but does not speak negatively about your character. The other is an interesting independent film that could spark conversation. You will require being able to discuss these movies, so always say movies that you have seen, but notice how the 2 choices for movies are simple choices or interesting choices.

Interview Tips:

  • Select either highly famous movies or independent films.
  • Stay away from films that could depict poorly on you.
