Main Objectives
The position has following main objectives
Senior Database Developer
Provide technical support in developing and maintaining database script for Porthos(MS SQL / Oracle). Good data analysis, application troubleshooting and writing skills are required. Excellent control over query optimization, database performance and tuning.
Legacy Tasks
We have quite a few legacy tasks that will be taken care by this position.
These legacy tasks are
• Optimize existing database scripts.
• Database maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The post has the following duties and responsibilities
Database Design and Development
• Analyze and identify opportunities to improve existing systems and implementation.
• Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
• Develop technical design for assigned projects.
• Design, develop and modify reports for all modules.
• Optimize system performance through effective design and improved efficiencies in the database development.
• Develop store procedure for assigned projects.
Additional Tasks
• Assist with the daily management of database performance and optimization.
• Provide third line support.
• Manage all database documentation.
• Ad-hoc Reporting.
Others
• Undertake any other duties that might reasonably request from time to time.
Skills
• Must have good analytical skills.
• Hands on experience writing queries with T-SQL in MS SQL Server environment OR Oracle.
• Strong knowledge of Query optimization.
• Strong knowledge of database performance and tuning.
• Good grasp over object oriented concepts.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and the agile approach.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment.
• Ability to achieve set goals and deadlines.
• Ability to self-motivate and self-direct.
• Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
