
Most job interview queries have a particular aim or purpose. Perhaps they are testing your honesty, loyalty, or observing how you manage a difficult question. Sometimes they are hoping a truthful answer and sometimes they are analyzing how well you lie. In few cases, although, you will be asked a query that has no true “wrong” answer. Rather than, the interviewer is simply curious what your views are to see if you have an intriguing answer. A great instance of this kind of interview query is “When do you hope for a promotion?”
Mediocre Answer
“I hope to move up in the company within five years.”
That is a bold claim. Move up to where? How are you going to make that happen? This reply is not terrible, in that it does imply passion and ambition, but it does not say anything about your selections. It is an answer that is not much of an answer, and though it will get the job done, it will not get you the job.
Good Answer
“It is my expectation that I sustain to earn more duties over time. I would not essentially think it a ‘promotion.’ A promotion is going to be deployed on positions becoming present and my suitability for their role. Rather than, I plan to sustain to earn responsibilities with the passage of time, and if those duties result in a change in title, so be it.”
This reply gives the hiring manager with some sort of thought process behind your response. You may want to change your reply to discuss a position you are gunning for, but the significant part is that you indicate how you are going to earn the promotion and why, instead of simply saying you will.
